The Lykaom rests on the foothills of the Holy Mountain, outside the town of Belltail, and is the center for military training in the Mukene territory. It’s large stone structures have marked the site of the first Sacred Band for generations and is the locus for the perpetuation of their tradition. The overlap of four rings of monoliths creates the main training ground, each ring representing an aspect of the traditional training in hand to hand combat, ranged combat, defensive maneuvering, and enchanted combat. At the intersection of these four circles, there stands a platform on which the newest initiates are recognized as having completed their training in each of these arts and on which the fallen are laid for their final departure, some being carried many hundreds of miles by their allies to reach this resting place. So strong is the wish of the fallen to return here, that often has there been a sighting of a ghost bearing the resemblance of one lost at sea or bands of soldiers all overcome and incapable of being presented.
